Following diesels comment lets confim your diff, slide under the rear of you car and find the diff code thats stamped into the housing (the diff is the large fish bowl shaped thing in the middle of the axle) post your code and we'll see if its and LSD diff or standard

I thought all Smurfs had a twitchy rear end!

I had to be careful going around cornesr in the damp in my old 2nd gen and it's the same with my '96 3rd. Just figured that it's a lot of grunt for essentially a RWD truck.

Check your tyres? I ran General Grabbers for a while but they were interesting in the damp. I prefer road-biased tyres for the type of driving I do these days (500 miles a week - I know - I must be mad).

I'd vote for checking the tyres too - my 3rd gen tried to kill me a couple of times The tyres were rock hard and the slightest bit of damp had the back end all over the place without trying !

Chucked on a set of Gen Grabber AT2's and she was a totally different drive

Life is too important to take seriously !

Same here-had Runway Enduro tyres on truck when I first bought it-terrible in the wet. Hardly took anything to step out the back end. I put Cooper muds on-loads better and pretty quiet in the dry on tarmac.
                      Watch tyre pressures to.

I had a Saab 9-5 a few years back when I was doing 30-40K a year. Went through tyres like no tomorrow. So I thought I'd give a very cheap set a go. They were Linglong L688s. £50 a corner or thereabouts.

I ran them for about 6K and got shut. They were appaling in the wet. A real liability. They must have been made out of some diamond/tungsten compound, there was hardly any wear on them when I binned them, the tyre fellas though I was daft to get shut.

I would have been even dafter to keep them!

well i think it must be down to
the drivers i have had all types of tyres on
and never had a spin out
i have had surfs for twenty years or more
and have driven all over the eu and this
wonderful land or ours and in all winds and rain
                            and snow
so it must be the drivers at fault
                            the old git
