Loose steering column anyone??

    Loose steering column anyone??

    Had MOT today and it failed cos a bolt was loose on the steering column. The guy tightened it and passed it but told me i should have the steering column removed and check the chassis for cracks! Anyone experienced this before?? He said it's common on transits too.

    But i do love my money-pit!

    Cracked chassis on a Toyota? Only one I have seen was on Top Gear and look what they did to achieve that!
    I would have thought that if an MOT test station suspected a cracked chassis they would have grounds to fail it on that.
    Mine has only one loose nut - behind the wheel
    It's only a hobby!
