  • Import Surfs....

Looks like I'll be getting a series 3 Surf from 4x4carsltd.com in Thetford.

If the work hasn't been done already, what work needs doing to it to make it UK legal? I'm hoping it has the rear fogs already, but I assume it will need some waxoil for the bottom?

I know the radio will have to go. Not a problem there :-)

    Regards and thanks in advance,

    Paul

Thanks Marky. These guys import from dealers in Japan (So I believe) so all the paper work should be done :-)

They must SVA the vehicle,to get the certificate, which will enable it to be registered.

Its not necessary to lose the radio for SVA, they should be able to provide a band expander, but they are crap, change it for a UK spec cd/radio.

They should do all the SVA work, ready for sale and register/plate it for you. All you should have to do is hand over the cash unfortunately

            Cheers for that :-)

Handing over the cash won't be a problem.... Can't wait to get hold of one!

These guys should do all the conversion work for you and SVA tests etc... I got my car from moss4x4cars in leigh, they register the cars through a depot in thetford due to time to register through Manchester office and then send them to leigh [may be one and same company]. If its one and the same they get the cars imported into Southampton docks because of the problems they've had through livepool

                Best Value??

When I was looking for my SURF I went into 4x4s. Found they were the dearest in East Anglia - and with a bit of an East-end fly-boy attitude. Could have been a relation of Arthur Daly. There are several other dealers about selling SURFs at much better value - and attitude!

As you are from suffolk, you'll understand that it's !!!!!! impossible not having a car!

I've learnt a bit over the last few years and offering them cash should have them gagging. They've just had a load in over the last few days, but thanks for the advice.

There's a jap import place in ilford doing the same surfs (R reg's) for 11k, thus making the 11K they are asking for the P's they have look a little on the expensive side. I'll have to mention this to them!
