know my annoyance. i decided that those window thingies that all surfs seem to have were a bit, well, not for me. i do have a nice set and they appear to be aftermarket EGR ones that just bolt on so no mess or destruction.
so i carefully take them all off as they are in good nick. once off i lay them all down on the yard carefully because i might put them back on.
once the jobs done, a nioce step back to admire the slightly new shaped surf.....but oh no, here comes a little gust of wind lifting up the off side rear one and fliping it onto its front and sending down the street.
git, its got some light scratches on now. nothing major or noticable but dont you hate it when stuff like that happens!

If they are major then you can do what Lucky said in another post about paint

"1. Rub down the whole panel with 1500 grade wet and dry paper. Dont rub too hard and make sure you use plenty of water to keep the grit washed away.
                    2. Use a cutting compound mixed with T Cut (get the compound in a tin not a tube, then you can pour in some T cut and mix it on the rag when you are using it. This will remove most of the scour marks from stage 1.
                    3. Use T cut or better Autoglym paint restorer. This will remove the dullness from stage 2.
                    4. Use a good quality polish (Mer, One Grand, Autogylm).
                    5. Use a good quality top gloss - Autoglym extra gloss protection is the only one I know."
If life's an uphill struggle then downhill from now on can't be that bad?!

                      Tony.

Yep it will definately work. You can also get some special perspex polish as well but T cut will do it just as well. If you are worried that it might be a bit too abrasive - shouldn't be as perspex gets harder over time anyway - you can mix up a bit of standard polish with it to water it down.

I've also heard that you can use silver polish to do the same although never tried it myself.

                      Cheers

I've polished scratches out of cd's with brasso, never tried it with something like the head smashers I meant wind deflectors

You can use Jeweller's Rouge (spelling check) for windscreen scratches so may do perspex also .

I have some stuff that will do it, its a paste that you put on a soft sponge pad and attach to drill. Little squirt of water on it and it takes out scratches on plastic, lacquer etc.
If you don't do it before we meet up next time I'll bring it with me.
