Is it possible to fit the new hilux d4d 3 litre engine into a 96 surf ? If so how practical .

Possible I suppose with complete engine, loom and ECU but why would you? Do you know how much it is to replace injectors on these? I'd stick with the 1KZ-TE.

not to mention the injector seal issue which has toasted a few of the d4's

The later 3rd gens had a D4d Engine, so if its the same one, I'd imagine yes.

A V8 would be more fun.

Thanks for advice, got some white smoke coming out the exhaust after engine over heated a few months ago. Replaced the radiator and fan all ok was a bit worried the engine was damaged long term.
