I've always measured from the ground to the wheel arch....with the back a little higher than the front to allow for filling the boot (with logs in my case). I'm not so sure there is a consistent point between front and rear for comparison, but opposite sides of the same axle would be fine, pick a point that's easy and use it.

I think what I'll do is look to raise the front torsion bars up to give 15" between top of wheel and bottom of arch lip. This would raise one side up 2" and the other 2.75" so it is level. Forgetting the 2" body lift this would be putting it back up to its supposedly standard height of around a 13" gap.
If it is torsion bar sag which has caused the drop in height, by winding them back up to where they once were, am I likely to see them collapse back down again soon, or should they stay in place after adjustment?
