....and I'm afraid it's a bad story.
Been looking at gen 3 surfs for 2 years now and iv finally found one.
2.7 petrol auto, the model iv been looking for. 140,000 km's backed up by MOT history back to 2005 (imported in 2004)
General condition indicated genuine mileage (and age)
Test drove it for 15 km and all seemed fine, slight weep from the autobox sump gasket but a/t fluid level was good.
80 mile drive home at a steady 60 mph, took it up to 70 to overtake a lorry and I hear a slight rattle on overrun as I lifted off. The more I investigate the more gutted I feel as I believe a little end has let go.
I apologise for asking on my first post, but is anyone on here that could point me in the direction of a reasonable 3rz engine for sale?
Iv wanted a gen 3 for so long and I'm not prepared to give up on them yet
