underside check plate

i have quarter inch ali check plate and was going to have a frame made for the check plate to sit onto on the underside of the surf
my question is has anyone dont this and what if any problems can it make
ie over heating or the like?

As in, on the body or the chassis?

I suppose it depends where it goes George, and how much air flow it may block.

iam hoping on putting it on a frame work to hold it off the underside so it hangs inline with the gearbox hopfully
