  • New Owner to a Toyota Surf

    Hi,

I've just swapped a Mercedes S500 limo for a Toyota Surf 2.4td which has had a few modifications done to it.

It drives better than I thought it would, it's a bit slow, but anything to my 5.0Ltr V8 Merc would be.

Here are some of the details of the truck:

    Toyota Hilux Surf 2.4td Auto
    • 1991 J- Registered
    • Black
    • 100,000 Miles
    • MOT Dec 2015 – No Advisories
    • All 4x4 Settings Work Perfectly
    • Auto Box Works – Gears are Smooth – Power Button
    • Twin Batteries
    • Lifted With Huge Tyres Fitted – Cost £600 and are nearly new
    • Hard and Soft Suspension Work Perfectly
    • Centre Box Removed and Straight Pipe Welded in Place – Sounds Awesome
    • Working Light Bar on Roof
    • Working Lights on A Bar
    • Recaro Interior
    • MP3 Player
    • Upgraded Speakers
    • Custom 6x9’s in the Back
    • Toad Alarm and Immobiliser With 1 Remote
    • Remote Central Locking
    • New Glow Plugs
    • New Filters and Oil
    • Chassis is Solid – Never had any Welding
    • All Electrics Work – Windows, Sunroof, Mirrors and Aerial
    • Truck Starts on the Button
    • No Nasty Knocks or Bangs
    • New Brakes and Master Cylinder
    • Zenon Headlights
    • LED Side Lights

I've also got a Mitsubishi L200 which had a punney 3.0Ltr V6 engine in it, which is getting thrown out and I'm putting in a Lexus 32V 4.0Ltr V8 engine in.

Now back to the Toyota I've got some plans for it unless I sell it in the meantime.

Are those tyres noisy on the road?

Yes, Especially down the motorway not too bad on the Isle of Wight, but a good stereo helps and you can listen to the music and still have a conversation with people. So I suppose they're easy to live with I've heard nosier diesels

Sorry about the long way around the answer.

From what I've seen here it's (sometimes) easier to put the Lexus lump into the Surf rather than the Misterbitchy.

is it 16inches tyres? measure if its 10inch wide, then if yes, i would say they are.
