No drama dude, I'll see if my neighbour can help steady this one as it comes down, not too confident doing it on my own, as there's no one but me at home today, so I'd have to shout loud for help.

Then of course is the fun of getting the new one in. Any tips on how to undo the oil flow and return pipes? They are stuck!!!

A gentle bit of heat should free the nuts from the pipe. Im assuming that the pipe turns with the nut.

Nothing moves at all. I'll heat it up and see if it will come off.

lol, then you are not applying yourself properly, if the nuts will not come undone try a small pair of stilsons, they don't tend to round the nuts off like an open ended spanner or grind a slot in the side of an old ring spanner so it slips over the pipe and try to make sure its the right size though.

I am going to end up giving myself a hernia....no movement at all, stilsons, mole grips, spanners, got both nice and hot too.

Is it feasible to replace a cut section of this with rubber pipe?

So - the gearbox is kind of dangling off the truck now, just sat on the ARB until I lower the Surf so it can go onto the floor of the workshop and be taken away.

Who's up for getting it clear of the Surf next weekend and getting the replacement in? I can supply bacon rolls, sausage baps, eggs, tea, coffee, tools etc.

I'm now off to clean up.
