I was bought up to believe in the NHS, and when my late wife was seriously ill 30 years ago you could not fault them. And they all spoke English then. (And that is not a racist comment, just a fact!)
But now!!! Anyway, hope all eventually comes good!

    Sorry, rant over.
I know exactly what you mean Tank. The NHS is crap now to what it was. They aren't given the money anymore as they use to.On the news yesterday RCHT stated they had to pay 2k for a doctor to cover 1 shift and a few months ago it cost the same hospital 1k to get 1 nurse for a nightshift.it is a bloody joke. The nurses have such a hard job and over worked while most doctors are in it for the money as far as i'm concerned and not for the patients.I have only come across 1 doctor that was for the patient and he was in Derriford. He paid for an isolation room to be converted out of his own pocket because there were no funds to do it and this was for Nuclear treatment patients like my dad when he was there.

There are a few exceptions to doctors who work hard - my mum..

Shes gone part time, semi retired, but her nhs case load is just the same, she she has to see the same number of patients and deal with the paper work in3 days not 5.. So she does a lot in her own time at home.

Whilst the nhs was failing to provide home care for my dieing dad, she took time off workmto be his 24/7 carer, as they provided no help. She still did all her emals and what she could while doing it. Shes into her 35th year of doing her job so is old school!

        The nhs is over stretched.

Rich, sorry to hear the news.

I understand your sentiments about staying positive. You might be down, but you are not out - winning the mental battle is half the trick. The fight starts here.

Rich - us lot have been waiting by the PC all afternoon. We hope it's COPD, still not great, but not cancer!
Keep your chin up my friend and keep that excellent sense of humour for the docs, they love it...and try not to fall asleep during the CT like I have done, three times now
