Hi Guys, I'm New to all this and looking for some advice really.
I'm looking for a car/truck to take to the alps next winter and I have landed here as surfs seem to offer everything I want; Good in the snow, reliable, something a bit different and good value for the amount of car you're getting and loads of space.
Is this a good idea? I'm well aware of Japanese reliability (I've currently got a 350z shame thats nor 4wd!) especially Toyota. I'm aware that there are always going to be niggles on 20+ year old car but its serious issues I'm worried about.
I know a lot seem to be cracking their heads these days, even the 3.0td it sems, and many have been repaired. Once this has been done how reliable are they? Are the problems likely to resurface?
Also, im a bit confused on Values. I have viewed these 3 in the past week and they all appeal on different levels. what do you guys think?

The Second a 3.0TD at a garage, No History at all

Finally a 3.0TD private sale, Head work done but temp gauge and fuel gauge do not work, and the seller mentioned a small oil leak after the head work and re tightening head bolts?
