  • thermo switch.

Just a quick question, how many of you have had to change your radiator thermostat switch?
Not the sender to the temperature gauge but the one that controls the electric radiator fan?
The one I have has failed again, this must be the fourth one in as many years, it's the intermotor 50380 version

Any suggestions as to why they are failing so often?

I'm considering doing my own homebrew temperature control any pitfalls worth noting?
    Cheers

How about fitting one of those adjustable thermo switches as used on all Lexurfs?

It's in the conversion parts list.

      Hmmm
      Worth considering.
do you insert the probe into the coolant as per the diagram?

I insert the probe into the top hose with a layer or two of self amalgamating tape to prevent leaks and damaging the capillary when tightening the hose clip.

Any idea why the thermo switches are failing as quickly as they are?
          I'm using the Intermotor 50380

          As per http://www.findpart.org/part/fac-75069/
I'm really stumped as to why they are lasting such a short period of time?

Revotek do an inline adaptor, which in my mind was a little neater.

Not the cheapest option... but when has that ever stopped us?
            More Lift.
            More Tyres.
            More Engine.

I like the thinking, now if it had PWM fan control......
