  • Garmin sat nav's

I've just bought a new Garmin sat nav and can't get the ###### thing updated or logged onto their poxy garmin express site. Now I've searched about it seems they have massive problems with it.
Anyone have one of these that's had the same trouble?
I'm going to lob it back at halfords soon as it doesn't work as well as my 5 year old not updated for years tom tom!
Couldn't find the first two address is tried.

Use your phone on Google maps. Always up to date and very clear instructions. No need to buy sat have these days.

Look out of the windows, by the side of the road they have big sheets of metal with writing on.
These tell you where to go.

They move towns around a lot, it is annoying with an outdated sat nav and you go to where Birmingham used to be, only to find out is is now Grimsby.

Strange, lots of people have ended up in rivers, canals, the sea and on the railway tracks with these things! Two words, common sense.

                  Your welcome.
                  But did you expect more.
                  First mistake.

Seriously though we have both a TomTom and Garmin.
The TomTom free updates always seems to include the user supplied and out of date speed restrictions M4 Reading is 50mph ........for instance.
I prefer the free mapping updates via the Garmin.
The TomTom seems to boot quicker.
                  But I prefer the Garmin.

The issue you have may be a software conflict on your pc
Might be worth deleting the software and reinstalling.

It's gone back now, I can't be arsed with stuff that doesn't work straight out the box.
Fair play to Halfords they gave me the money back no problem, they always give me good customer service (so far).
Probably go for another Tom Tom if I can find a way around their new and not very good mounting system.
                      Fussy ain't I?
