    Hi all,

I'm new to the 4runners. Not to Toyota. I own a Celica turbo 1992 Carlos Sainz edition and a starlet for daily buisness. In the winter of 2012 I took a trip to North cape (NO) in the Celica and loved it so much that I want to make such trips more often. I have been looking in to LC's and 4runners. Firts was the HJ60, but the rust is just holding me back. So I stumbled upon the 4runners. I'm sure they will rust as well but not as bad as the older toyota's. I'm trying to collect as much info on the gen 2's as I can. The model just speaks to me.

But after all these cracked head stories I'm lost. I want to use the car for traveling. What is the best choise for me engine wise, 2.4LTE od 1KZte. I prefer the diesel engines.

I would have expected a sticky on this, but I have not found it.
    Any info is welcome.

    Cheers,

    Jef

Since Holland is such a flat country, a 2.4 will be perfectly fine.

hahaha, very funny. Maybe install a periscoop while I'm at it.

But I'm planning on going on long trips like maybe Mongolia.

I also noticed that almost all head problems are automatics. I want a manual.
Are those less prone to crackedheads or just coincidens?
