  • 3rd Gen for sale?

    Hello fellow Surfers

I am thinking of maybe selling my surf, if I can find someone who will make me a good offer. (I will put a proper for sale advert up if I decide to sell it)

I dont seem to use it as much these days and I have never used it for off-roading, unlike my 2nd Gen, which was always covered in mud!

We have had hardly any snow down here for the 4 years that I have owned a surf, 2yrs 2nd Gen, almost 2yrs 3rd Gen.

My 1996 P reg 3rd Gen says it has done 134,000 miles or kilometers?
When I first got it I had the cam belt and the 3 rubber fan belts replaced.
The first MOT it needed a rear shock, so I had both replaced, the second MOT in April it needed an anti-roll bar linkage, so I had both of them replaced.
I have changed the oil and 3 filters every 6 months since I have had the surf, the last time was in March. I changed the 3 wiper blades a couple of weeks ago.

It has MOT until April, tax until end of September, I had the air con re-gassed a couple of months ago, the sunroof works good, I put 5 matching Yokohama Geolander tyres on when I sprayed the wheels white.

There are a few bad points, Cd player stopped working when I had the surf valeted after I bought it, the aerial has never worked, front passenger window stopped working a couple of months ago, drivers seat side bolsters are squashed, rear passenger seats backing was loose when I bought it (you can see the chipboard has come away when you open the boot), when I had it washed last week one of the idiots knocked the fog light off (I didnt notice until I got home, so i have put it up onto the underslung spare wheel out of the way for now.

Here are the latest pictures I have of it.

Thanks for the offer Yoshie, but I think I am going to part exchange my surf against something else, it saves a lot of trouble that way.

Think you will have people queuing out the door to buy that for £1100 quid! I'll have it for £1101!

                  Hello everyone,

Just to let you know I have part-exchanged my surf for a Mercedes cl 500 5 litre V8!

The dealer didnt really want my surf, as he only sold expensive executive cars, but I told him it was the only way I could travel the 100 miles to buy his Merc, so he gave me £500 for it just so I could get to him to buy his car.

I have loved owning my 2 surfs, 2nd Gen for 2 years and 3rd Gen 2 years, but with no snow down here and no meet-ups any more, (I loved the off-roading and camping weekend we had at Avalanche a few years ago), I felt it was time to move on to a more luxurious car so I can have some fun on the roads!

All the best to everyone, Stuart.

                    Smart you.

Could have got a taxi for that.

Those Mercs are nice, father in law has one.
However I can't help thinking that if you had sold it to one of the bidders on the forum you'd still have your Merc and a spare 600 quid...

####er move, aye. Couldn't wait to get it off I guess.

Suppose the dealer financed the balance at 18~24%...
