6x9 speaker box on rear wheel arch?

I'm thinking of building a 6 x 9 speaker box on top of the rear wheel arches, does anyone know if it's safe to screw into the plastic? I.e what's behind there apart from the diesel filler.

There's nothing behind the plastic panel except the rear speakers and their amplifiers. The fuelfiller tube is under the wheelarch and doesn't come inside the body.
