A 2WD 3rd Gen??

Morning all,

I was looking through this importer's site and came across this very cheap 1998 petrol 3rd Gen. As I looked through the pics I noticed that there's no 4x4 transfer lever!
Can anyone shed light?

Its not a 4wd so no lever.

IIRC the "Sports Runner" was a 2wd variant of the 3rd gen.

They are not common over here but if you have a look on goo net there are plenty there, e.g. :

I guess if you are never going to do mud or snow, then you'd save fuel by not carting the 4wd bits around. Or maybe there was some specific 4x4 tax in Japan that this model dodged.

Interesting, for a moment I thought it might be a permanent 4WD like a Rav4 or a Subaru.
That might also explain the price, just around 1000 USD...maybe double that with the shipping...
