  • MOT Fail

    Well.

    It failed.
    Not surprising really.
It has been a really hateful experience from almost the get go.

The garage has said the repairs are going to be about £400 and they are not going to tackle the oil leak, apparently the amount of sealant used good be hiding anything.

What a sh1tty p1ss poor example of automotive engineering.
Money pit has now become potential death trap, expect to see a For Sale or Parts For Sale soon.

    I hate it.

        Yep
        Vauxhall Owners Club
        The dis-astra has scored again.
So weigh it in will get me about £125.
Sell it on eBay could get me £200+

Breaking it seems possibly the most financially rewarding option.

Any suggestions as to what I could possibly make by breaking it?

About 3 to 4 times its value as a car....if you can sell most of it...and have the time.

It has been a really great experience from almost the get go.

The garage has said the repairs are going to be about £4 and they are going to tackle the oil leak, apparently the amount of sealant used is miniscule, like my tinkle.

What a fantastic example of automotive engineering.
It has now become potential fanny magnet, expect to see a request in 'wanted' for new brown polyester trousers, and a new hanky I can wnak into

I rub myself inappropriately against it.

EDIT: Just to make you feel better, I just took(and recorded) a call from "Microsoft" The upshot is he asked if, and I quote "Shokenore was gay"
Full details available on t'other side later.

Break it, sell all you can then take a big fooking sledgehammer to it.
That will be VERY emotionaly rewarding!
I've always wanted to do that.
                Photos before and after though......

Very tempted to just sit in 2nd gear with the hand brake on(only 13% effective) at the rev limiter and do donuts till something breaks.

Seriously though, will see what can be used on the truck, alternator perhaps?
                  air box? intercooler ?
maybe battery ,plus all the lamps from the lights and drain the (full) diesel tank,
I mean come on who in their right minds tops off the fuel tank before an MOT?

Hello Wifey if you are reading this.

                  UPDATE;
'cos I know you lot are all dying to know.
Decided to look at scrap prices initially, but seemed a bit of a hassle what with the dealer picking it up then it would seem that even though a price was agreed, when the dismantlers get their hands on it then they can start to knock you down.Hmmmm, dubious to say the least.
So stuck it on Ebay with a £130 reserve, equal to the best scrap price I was offered, and put a £220 Buy It Now.
The auction was live for a full 7 minutes
                  £220 thank you
Buyer is picking it up Sunday.
