    Hello all,

I have been poking about on here for a wee while, having bought my first Surf around a month ago. Site's great, found the manual download and timing marks required, thanks to all concerned.

The jeep is a '92 2.4 auto, bog standard burgundy over grey, but all there and working with 12 months ticket for £1200. Tyres are brand new, bought for the MOT after the thing had sat without moving for nearly three years.

I am not new to Toyotas of this vintage, so have changed the waterpump, cambelt and all fluids to keep things cool and happy! There's 130,000kms on her, not bad for rust, paint work peeling but still smart enough, and starting/running like an absolute dream... touch wood!

Anyway, well chuffed after having always admired them, cheers all, Ron.

Just a heads up. The forum etiquette is to not call it a jeep, or a smurf. There are a few others too. Otherwise the men in white jackets with their hands bound won't be happy.

Welcome to the site, albeit a little crazy.

                              Hello again all,

Just fitted a new exhaust from Milner this morning. Well, got from the downpipe back changed, didn't have time to tackle the turbo manifold studs!

Don't know what the consensus on Milner is, I am very impressed. That was my second purchase, and a full system for £188 delivered seems reasonable. Came with everything too, all bolts, hangers gaskets etc.

Anyway, after start up, my normally smoke free Surf chucked out a bit of blue smoke for a wee minute, which then cleared and hasn't returned. Was a bit surprised, but all seemed well (oil, water, nice hot blowers) and the thing went like a train on a run up the hill.

Anybody else had this post exhaust change? Could the freer flow have cleared out some rubbish from the exhaust side of the turbo? The old exhaust was truly horrible, just about pulled it off with my hands!

Thoughts as always, appreciated, and many thanks to the man who did the exhaust fitment write-up a few years ago.

                              Cheers all, Ron.
