Easy now, but aye, he said he knew what it said then he said he wanted to know what it said...

Evidence to be posted soon, we shall see.

    Innocent until proven guilty.

as for going on the offensive, well you lot wernt too nice to start with,
if you all asked top money for your surfs then the price would stay high.
So now that you have had all the faults picked out by " you lot" you now are asking for help.
The factually incorrect eBay advert still stands though, no edits, interesting.
So you are hoping to take advantage of someone's lack of knowledge to offload a overpriced vehicle.
Perhaps the head or the one of the now obviously stressed barrels has finally cracked due to the heat stress of all of those 180bhp you keep churning out playing out your fast and furious fantasy with your golf gti obsessed driving.
I find people like yourself who knowingly post inaccurate listings to be the bane of auction sites, and should be banned from doing so.
I know that eBay take a very dim view on such listings.

It would be a real shame if someone who was looking at buying a Surf should
stumble upon this forum and find this thread.
    Hopefully they will.

As for us lot being not nice
Have a look at post #10
    Muppet.
Seems to me like you have been caught out and don't quite like the attention, which is a shame really as in most of your albeit brief postings you have been such a nice person yourself.
    Not.
Hope the overpriced POS sells and you buy another 4x4 but not a Toyota.
Perhaps with the sale of the vehicle you could take some charm lessons or maybe just buy a few slices of humble pie.

But then I don't live in the Da Smoke so what would I know

    Muppet.

@tashtego, prices vary. Have a look here, pretty fair representation of what's on the market. Sorted from '95 and up.

@Bob, just post it here so we can all see. I can handle it from there.

Curious as to the extent of the modifications, and where they might have been done.

Very rare to find any shops doing that here as increasing engine displacement/horsepower is illegal, without quite a bit of hassle, paperwork and testing.

Any legal modification will have the new displacement listed on the Japanese registration/de-registration certificate as well.
Hi, just noticed you leave in Japan...observant, I know. Must be the cple of bottles of wine I've had...
Anyway, could you tell me, what is the price of a 3rd Gen Intercooled (1998 -) these days? I can't see that many on the Jap websites. Also would you be able to help in choosing one? For a fee, of course! Ta very much.

    PS:

Bill, please, stop dissing the Scots, some of my ancestors were from there!

I'm sorry but I disagree...any surf (3.0 L, of course) can keep up with a Golf GTI, all it needs is a drop of Diesel Rhino...

BMW X5s, 330s and Peugeot 407s are easy prey too.

Certainly seems that way. If your charming manner is anything to go by, I'm glad I don't live there.

Looks a bit tatty to me... but I think I paid about £7k for my standard 3rd gen!

It was quite a few years ago though.

Also, mine keeps up with Golf GTis, so its not impossible

Same wheels as mine too, which makes them the best wheels ever..

    Apart from the spare!

My 2 pennies worth on the price etc.. Well.. the asking price does seem a bit steep to me, and If you have been offered £6k.. I think I would take that cash offer if it were me.
I know you're new the the world of Surfs, but did you read the listing at all?
    It's mostly fiction.
