sad to say after 5 years of spending good cash on my old surf she finally gave up its heart, blown head gasket , to much else to sort so she had to go.
scrap man took the beast away . so sadly no more.
BUT i must say i am happy with my mint shogun pinin 1800 GDI she got more power and better 4X4 with diff lock , than the long heavy slow gutless old girl ,
must admit that the surf was not really up to much , now i know that comment will cause you all to be up in arms .. but its true.

so if any of you need glow plugs nice new top quality ones check out my post glow plugs ok .. kind regards from me..

The Pinin is quite nippy, bit like driving a suzuki,I think it's the 1800 cc?
However as mentioned you should try a 3.0 L surf, if what you had was the 2.4. They are like chalk and cheese.

yes she is 1800cc and nippy.
but maybe the 3 ltr is better but i know my pinin would out strip a surf off road and on the road, she handles so good. and from 0-60 she would be way out in front , but hey dose it matter. we like what we like. i did enjoy the old surf but it cost to much to keep her going

The 2.4 (chalk) is thirstier and less powerful than the 3.0 L (cheese).

Hmm I know I'm gonna regret this but, I disagree.
I would say that anyone who bought a near 2 tonne vehicle especially a 4wd 2 tonne vehicle for its fuel efficiency is foolish.
I doubt very much the designers even contemplated fuel efficiency.

But I digress, wether the OP had the 2.4 or the 3.0 and we are assuming it was a 2nd gen diesel the maintenance costs and the spares are near identical.

But hey let's not let fact taint your bias.

The Pinin does have a nice stance on the road especially the 3door.
There is a quite tastefully matte black one I see around these parts.
It is fitted with muds and wheel spacers and a neat snorkel.
                  Looks quite capable.
Good luck with your fancy modern vehicle
May it spend more time being driven than being fixed.

Are they (Shogun Pinins) 260 hp?

                            I thought that was a P*jero Evo.
