The ebay one is cheaper because it is not a branded Safari snorkel but a Chinese copy. I have got a cheap one on mine and it's fine. Safari claim that theirs have a UV factor of 20 while the copies only have UV 8, so more likely to fade...sounds like a bit of a rip off to me, it's a plastic tube and a few washers after all...
