It was a gentle vibration through the steering wheel which grew to a shudder and then to a violent rattle (thought the windscreen was going to break at 50 mph), I thought it was my DMF breaking up which I had just replaced with one off my scrapper.
Mine snapped off on a busy roundabout in High Wycombe leaving the prop shaft on the road and me stranded.
I took off an old UJ from my scrapper and the truck now runs as smooth as you like, really surprised me because the problem appeared in the engine bay, i would never have guessed it was in the rear prop shaft UJ.
Squealing and metal rattling was my DMF, is yours a manual?
