  • Gerbox leavers....what they all ment?

    Hi,ive bought L reg 3.0 td surf.I do not have any instructions manual.
    The previous owner did know all about the cars automatic transmition.
    Just wonder if anybody have a repair/manual book for sale or just give me idea whats they all ment on my surf
    Large gear stick I belive is
    P-parking
    R-reverse
    N-natural
    D-drive
    2-engine braking
    L-heavy engine breaking
    Small leaver/gear stick.
    L4-
    N-
    H-
    Can you pls give me some idea.I take L4 is a 4 wheel drive offroader etc/

              P-Park, R-Reverse, N-Neutral, D-Drive (third gear) 2-Second Gear, L-First Gear. Button on side is OD-Overdrive (basically a fourth gear). Light on dash should indicate when in overdrive. Transfer case lever. H-High Range 2WD, (With button on side in, it is High Range 4WD.) N-Neutral, L4- Low Range 4WD ( no need for button to be in).

                      Thanks so much guys......
                      So I take that the main leaver can be used as manual drive then
                      And every day on road drive will be H (2WD) and D on main leaver.
