2nd Gen wheels to fit 3rd Gen

Hi all, not been on here for a while due to being busy at work etc,
anyhoo, i had a Grey 2nd Gen surf with nice 5 spoke alloys with General Grabbers on. what i need to know is will they go on my 3rd Gen?
My 2nd Gen had 30mm spacers on, so will i need to put these on too, to cover the calipers, the guy who's yard its in said they don't fit.
I think he wants my shiny wheels...
Any advise much appreciated,

If they were standard 2nd gen alloys then they would NOT fit the 3rd gen. However the description would indicate they are non standard in which case they may fit. if they are 16" they will . If they are 15" they will NOT

I'm guessing the wheel spacers won't help any either , sorry to sound a bit anal.
