  • 33s on standard rims

    Hi

    Just wondering if you can fit 33 x 12.50 x 15 on standard 7 x 15 rims?

really like my rims, and dont really want to get a new set when I upgrade to 33s

    Cheers

I think the answer is yes, however you will have a problem with the sidewalls bulging and as someone once said on here I think it will really wallow on the corners.
Real experts will be along soon with a better answer!

12.5s on 7' rims, is I think, one of those questions where you will get a 50/50 yes and no answer. I personally would choose 8". If you put them on the 7" then watch for wear in centre of tread and lower air pressure if needed.

I think I'd worry about whether they would seat properly...

If you do it and do lower the pressures be sure to stay above 20psi or one day they will pop off the rims at the most inconvenient time...and any kind of brisk driving with low pressures runs the risk of over heating the tyres... (Google for the Ford Explorer 26psi c*ck up from 10+ years ago)

I'd get different wheels if it was me..

The bottom line is tyre manufactures do not recommend 7" rims, so they are the ones who know best.
