  • starter motor advice

The starter motor is playing up on the old surf, has been for ages, just wont give up the ghost completely. On the one occasion I was stuck in a midge infested layby near Corrie Hallie for a couple of hours until a man with a landrover helped me out. Any way I have decided to do something about it and I am thinking about getting one of those starter motor service kits from rough trax. My question is what do you think a garage might charge for doing the work?

    A trillion pounds. That's what I think.

Its a simple job, getting the starter out is a bit of a faff but fitting the kit is idiot proof.

Seriously, like Yoshie says, getting the starter out is a bit of a pain, but there is plenty of info on how to do it. Fitting the kit is well easy...even I did it.
