    What to buy ?

It seems you can get a cheap 5-80ftlb torque wrench for around £18 on ebay, or pay loads of money for a Snap-on, Norbar, Halfords pro etc...

    Any suggestions welcome please...

    Cheers & ATVB

    PS next job...Timing belt change

They all do the same job, it all depends if you're a brand name snob or not.

Depends on how it's calibrated. Proper ft/lbs or Chinese ft/lbs.

I am tempted by cheapish as it is only for my occasional DIY maintenance, while not likely to be a repeatable as an expensive one should be better than guessing !!

I've got the 3/8" version of this and it seems ok.

I have a Snap-On, total rubbish, 30lbs out from new, torqued up my brothers front wheels only for the left to come undone 3 days later....Norbar are good and I've had a good experience with Halfords....

I've always used budget wrenches and never had any issues. Bought a budget 1/4 inch drive to rebuild my scenic engine this summer and managed 3500k to spain and back no issues and engine still purring!!!
