  • T-Belt change

My T-Belt light has just come on so I want to change the belt. I did a search on here a while ago and found a good thread with pictures explaining how to do it, but I can't find it now I need it. Anyone know the thread?

Should I go for a genuine Toyota belt, or an aftermarket? Should I change the tensioner etc and the water pump as well? There is a bit of a squeaking sound coming from the auxiliary area when the engine is running.

Squeaking noise usually comes from the alternator's dry bearings. A squirt of WD40 shuts it up.

Would the ln130 be a similar operation to the 1kzte?

Similar yes, but there's a bit more involved with the 2.4.

The crank pulley needs to come off for a start.

          Here's a write-up here with a couple of images....
