  • What a scare!

    Hi all,

This morning, started the truck no probs, reversed out of the drive,
and drove away, 20 foot further, the engine started rattling it's bits
off, (scared the whotsit out of me) got it back in the drive and had to
go to work. Spent all day thinking, new engine, new head, scrap it,
break it. God knows. Not a good day.

This evening had a look see, found the crank pulley had come apart
and chewed it's way through the cam belt cover, stripped it all off and
started the engine and it still rattled. Then I noticed the timing marks
were out of alignment, so, off with the timing belt, and re-time it, started
it up again and all is well. PHEEW!! new bits ordered from R.Trax should
be OK for weekend. Lucky or what?

    Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

Yep very lucky, shudder to think the damage that could of occurred
if you had been travelling at 50 or so.
    Still on a mission.
