Where to fit new digital coolant temp gauge.
didn't want to buy or even know where to mount a pod.

Solution, gently remove one air vent above heater controls.Cut a 50mm hole in the center & cut out 20mm from the top of vent frame, enabling the gauge to fit flush into the vent.
The aperture leading into airbox is sealed, so to run the 3 wires I drilled a hole through the inside towards the back of the hazard switch.the wiring was easily routed to power, earth & temp sender.

You should have stuck it front of the speedo, you don't need one on a 2.4.

Don't be silly, Vince. Of course He'll still need the speedo. On many residential streets, the speed limit has been reduced to 20 mph.... .

After wiring the unit, it failed

Digits are illegible, ie only shows 1/2 of the numbers.

Waiting for an answer ref replacement from ebay supplier

Double check your earth connection, if that is not sound, it gives the symptoms you described.

                    Hi Will

Removed the gauge from dash & connected direct to battery.

                    Same problem.
