  • Lp to mp3

Can anyone give me some advice regarding converting Lp's to mp3.
I have a lot of records that I have finally decided to convert to mp3.
I can't say the exact amount but about 8' worth.

Have any of you used one of the RCA devices hooked up to your deck or did you use a USB deck?

    Any advice?

Sounds like a huge amount of work with that much vinyl no matter how you do it. What's your main reason for wanting digital copies? Also do you have a decent turntable already?

One thing I would say is that if you are going to the trouble of converting even some of your collection to digital, I would definitely not encode them as mp3. Go for a lossless format and buy a big hard disk. You can always make mp3s from the lossless copies if you need to play the songs back on something which only recognises mp3.

          100% this

Also..to save some time...source as much of it as you can online. Probably a lot of your albums are already available in digi format.
