  • Smoking

    Hey guys and gals.
3 week old newbie, still gettin use to it. HOWEVER - it does like to smoke on its way up slight gradients or harder acceleration. Was serviced and diesel fuel/injector treatment b4 i got it (or should i say HER)....
I had a diesel b4 this and yes it smoked a little too under same conditions - but not this much..... (its grey black smoke - oil/fuel . not water)
SO......... the question is. is it generally accepted that they smoke quite a bit (2.4) or is it just mine. Have not really BLASTED it yet, but thinking of seeing what might happen - and yes i wont red line to the point of failure...

Look forward to hearing from u'all

fwiw - had my 1990 2.4td for 5 weeks 114000 kms now on the clock - i get one blast of black ish smoke when she starts from cold in the morning and i get a tiny amount of smoke visible when i really boot it (think hgv rapidly approaching in rear view with lights flashing cause u just pulled out on him!!) - but ive seen much newer cars (esp peugeots!) put out miles more !!!! than mine.

    hope this helps some

    Take care
