  • ford ka forum ?

Acquired a Ford ka for my 16 year old son today.

Have looked at numerous Ford forums & they are all useless

Anyone have a link to a site with real people with technical info please.

    Thanks.

For a KA, isn't that just a Fiesta with a Kent engine? I think you can just guess ;-)

    Any of these any good?

Type, Ford KA owners engine into Google, you might find something useful there.

Or let me know what problems the car has and I'll find the info for you.

        Thanks for replies.
car W reg, belonged to a neighbour. when the engine made strange noises, she parked it in the field & bought a new car

After lengthy negotiations, we agreed a price. 6 freshly laid free range eggs.

        Battery on charge this evening.

        Update to follow.

Problem is that it's fitted with Ford's 1300 rattler engine.
well, that was a bad idea!

                    Update.

Refitted battery, checked fluid levels, all ok.

Inflated 2 front tyres. started 2nd turn of the key & surprise surprise sounds like a bag of spanners .
                    No worse than I expected.
Now parked at my home, will give it a good check over tomorrow.

Search is on for a good replacement engine 1.3 endura

Only rust visible is on n/s door,

Cool plan.....having only a daughter I won't get to use that excuse lol.

Fingers crossed for rockers then, they wear really badly, I had one must have had 2mm worn in the middle of the rocker, impossible to adjust even if the previous owner had tried.

I bought one of those engine from Ford years back, for a tiny £460, proper factory recon. Bargain. Put it in a Jago Jeep, remember those?

Great simple engine to learn on, rebuild with your boy, teach him the way of the force?

Built & owned a Westfield about 20 years ago, 1.3 mk2 escort engine.

Richard is my youngest of 4 sons & 3 daughters.

I'm sure he will enjoy spannering

I looked at Westfield about that time too, always fancied building a Locost from scratch as well, that's a good one for your lad, I have the book somewhere, if I can find it after I move and your lad is interested I'll bung it your way.

I was talking the other day to a chap who writes for Haynes (as you do), who's got a great project to build an electric VW Polo, if job/money permit I might have a bash at that next year (does mean I have to get a job lol).
