I have stripped the transmission off, removed the bell housing and clutch. I want to remove the DMF but the 8 bolts in the centre wont budge and I cant find a technique to stop it from spinning and moving around as I jam it to force the bolts undone.

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks
    Mark

PS Bushy you were bang on the DMF is dead and my clutch intact !!Thanks

You need to 'shock' them loose.
An air ratchet works best but if you don't have access to one, use a socket and 'T' bar and give the end of the bar a firm tap with a small lump hammer.

        Use some threadlock on reassembly.

You'll need a new clutch as well.

As I suggested in your other post, Mark. Take a look at the Aussie site. There's plenty info. Anyone breaking a pickup on HPOC ?

                Hi Nev

I checked the clutch and it looks good as new, Is there something I have missed that happens when the DMF breaks up?
                Thanks

I would have done that but had a breaker with a DMF so opted to save money and drop that in as not sure on the life of the truck, Thanks for the advice, appreciated

                    Cheers
