  • Bash plate / Belly Pan options

My front bash plate has seen better days, its rusty and the triangle vent in it has either been broken or rusted away, so now theres just a rusty hole.

Its coming off tomorrow and I had planned to remove as much rust as possible, cut the triangle vent bigger and fix some mesh over the hole. Then paint it, maybe bright orange/green.

I was wondering what other options there are for replacing it?

I haven't really got the tools to make my own from sheet metal.

    any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    If I like it, Bushwhacker doesn't. :-)

Are there any aftermarket plates available?

Or does anyone have a standard one in good nic?

How much you looking for it? If its in good nick it might save me a few hours of rust removal.

mail me on andyverran@yahoo.com, in the mean time I'll get pics so you can judge condition.

                A.

Looks like the oil leaks have protected it some...I've scrapped off the loose paint and surface rust to get an idea of how solid it was, seems pretty good, but will need a clean, wire brushing and painting I'd say. Or, clean it with petrol, or some such, really thoroughly and treat it with RC900 (bottom of the page):

That will save you some wire brushing time, it's like magic that stuff.

Now that you have both benefited perhaps this could be interesting reading?
