Hello and welcome to the mad house!

If the lights are flashing, it has not shifted into 4wd, when you press the 4wd button move forward and blip the throttle a little, or select neutral and then drive if an auto. If still flashing, there is a problem with the system.

have you tried driving forwards then reverse? does it engage with the lever into low 4 ect?

My 3rd gen does the same sometimes, the best way to test if it's in 4WD is to give it full throttle on a wet roundabout. If you are then looking the way you just came it's still in 2WD!

yeah it was the control unit on back of transfer box . fixed it now had to strip it down and free off motor and the shaft all works fine
