Why is it fuel gauges take ages to start moving after filling up and then seem to drop like a stone once off the mark ???

Not much, then. Hope I make it 15 miles down the road to the petrol station. Should do at 27 mpg (if my maths is right). Thanks Si.

I got about 50km after my light went, but wouldn't risk it any further.

            I only get about 22mpg (35km/l).

I haven't seen mine yet. It must be really low to come on?

The needle needs to be below the 'E' before the light comes on.

I once did 20 miles but then bottled it & filled up but it was probably running on vapour by that point.

Because the sender is saturated. It takes a while for the level to come back in to range.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's
