Any Idea How To Fix This?

Morning All

I managed to snap the handle off of my son’s tri-cycle at the weekend. Its thin hollow plastic so I’ve managed to get a bolt through it but the crack is still opening up. Any ideas? I did think about filling the whole thing with some sort of resin or expanding foam.

probably strongest to fibreglass & resin over the whole thing and sand it to shape?

or take the tricycle back to the shop and say it was shit?

Thanks Slug. Hadn't thought about glassing it.

It's over 35 years old (it used to be mine) so I doubt they will take it back :-)
