  • Zombisurf / Survivasurf

    Hi Guys

Being only a 1200 quid truck I thought I'd have a little fun with it and turn it into a survival / zompocalypse wagon.

The very ethos of these types of vehicles is that you do any mods DIY stylee rather than buying it off the shelf... after all, where ya going to buy stuff with a zombie hord running riot?!

I'm in the process of blacking the chrome (shiny stuff can be seen from a long distance and its girly hairdresser shirt lifting chav bling ).

Next up is an equipment list that needs to be fitted to the outside of the truck, this list includes...

    2 x 20ltr Jerry Cans
    High Lift jack
    2 x sand/mud mats or bridging mats
    Dual Handed Axe
    Shovel
    Pick Axe
    Rope

To me the obvious place to put a load of this gear is the spare wear bracket, I can weld up a frame to go over the spare wheel where I could locate the High Lift Jack, Axe, Pick, Shovel and possibly even the jerry cans if it can take the weight.

But how much extra weight can the bracket handle?

The bridging ladders/sand mats could go on the bonnet, its look pretty study (the bonnet) would this cause any problems?

Do you guys have any other ideas? remember this is a do it yourself ethos so no spending a 1000's of quids on a full exo cage to house all this stuff.

    Cheers

    Steve

On a serious note, any suspension/body lift kit needs to be good quality.

Now...Zombies you say....Home made snorkel made from drain pipe. Roof. rack for mounting a 50 Calibre. Decent inverter for brewing coffee (Zombie killing is thirsty work and you need to boil a kettle).
Ditch the stock speakers and install something loud !!

I'll add more as i think of them.

Buy the wheel hanger bits and put the spare underneath, leaving the hanger free for the jerry cans etc.

Maybe get a plough to clear the bodies out of your way, tracked wheels would probably slow you down though...

Weld up some box section as a replacement for the front bumper.

Get some roof rails from an estate at the scrappy, It will take a decent amount of weight on the roof providing the mountings are in the right place.

Use some steel pipe for a snorkel, you can go straight down the A pillar into the wing.
