  • Look what came home

After many years in my Brothers loving care this old bomb made way for a 3rd gen he bought from me.

It has been away two years, however the changes are just cosmetic roughness. Currently has almost 11 months MOT. It has only clocked 15k km in all the time it has been away. New calipers by the looks of things and that shiny replacement head that Alan and I fitted before it was sold is still looking good, as are the warn hubs. The wheels need a lick of paint but it has returned with some very nice BFG Muds on each corner

The remote winch and TJM have all ready been asked for by someone so no point asking at present, sorry.

I will have to tidy those sliders up, make new front and rear tube bumpers and sort the spongy brake pedal. It is also going for a VIC next week so I can get it back road legal as it was in a fight at some point late last year.
Looks like the wing and arch took it, as the grey wing Alan supplied with the truck has now been fitted along with a green arch.

Not sure the good lady will let me keep both trucks as I have the Audi as daily driver but it was to good an opportunity to get back a much enjoyed old truck. It will be braw once again and live on for years.

Mechanical just as good, however, the cosmetics would take more time than I can give to get it looking like that again. Anyway straight panels don't add character lol.

I got all the arch mounting holes welded and dressed on the pickup today. Tomorrow I will sheet the lower half of the cab in steel and that's all the welding finished.
Time to tackle the engine bay and the underside.

                      Hi Brian

Nice looking truck. Mines on its way to looking like that.

Still haven't fitted that bumper yet but it's back from the factory after the repairs to the brackets (feckin couriers) because long story short, I've cracked a rib so it'll be a couple of weeks before I'm up to it.

What wheels are they on the truck? That's exactly what I'm after.

They are 15x10" deep dish steels. Alan bought them from silver line I think.

Under the bonnet looks so clean. Unlike mine! Has it had a wire tuck or something?

There are probably hundreds of posts on here about this but I've tried searching and it all gets very confusing to a simple chap like me. What size tyres fit on those wheels? I have a 2" body lift and by the time I buy those wheels I'll have a 2" suspension lift as well. What will fit without rubbing?

                            Ta in advance.

33 x 12.5 x 15 in the pictures will fit on those wheels with your planned lift

11.5 and 13.5 would also work. I think the shiny picture its on 13.5
