Well according to my calculations 540 km on about 50 litres equates to 29 mpg approx. forgot to mention I'm running 31" cooper muds at the moment, but I'm getting the same mpg as when I was running same size Runway A/T's.

600Km on a tank!?
I get 400Km from 40 litres of diesel, how i drive it does not appear to make any difference. My fuel gauge is not very accurate so I tend to just fill up when i hit 400Km. I could probably get another 100Km maybe if i ran it dry.
I rarely put my foot down all the way mine, that does not seem to make much difference to my actual speed either, just revs the shit out of the engine and makes an alarmingly loud roaring noise and a lot of smoke.

I think the tank in my truck is 66L, from empty with light on solid for a few miles it'll take about £90 to fill right to the top. 540KM would be about average for a full tank driving carefully on a mix of roads, just over 600KM was keeping it just in overdrive on a motorway, it was painful and I wouldn't do it again. Kept getting passed by old folk in small Volvos.
Once the truck is up to speed I tend to try to keep it there, going up & down through the box or sitting much over about 2300 RPM seems to be what kills the fuel economy. The Surf drinks a lot however it is driven I just accept it although, I will admit to wanting to kill a mate who is getting 70+MPG out of his diesel Clio.
I definitely get a few more miles with Redex in the tank ot on BP Ulitmate diesel but not enough to justify the extra cost of putting either in.
Cheers
Ben

I seem to have a massive difference in rpm compared to you guys,
3rd gen auto 1kz is 1900rpm at 100kmh (62mph)
Vs my 2nd gen manual is 3000rpm at 100kmh (62mph)
Poor old second gen tops out at 120kmh (75mph) simply because the poor old diesel lumps reving out at 3500rpm and refuses to do any more
Third gen however will happily sit at 180kmh (112mph) and probably more if I asked it to, and accelerated to that pretty smartly too, third gens are nutsIts a new truck, Because every parts been replaced
