Hello Hilux people,
I'm about to set off on a grand overland adventure and am choosing a vehicle...Landcruiser 70 and 80 were obvious first thoughts but they are a little out of price range. I've found a 3.4L SSR-G widebody (1996)...its an automatic with 98,000km (its Japanese) on the clock. It looks pretty tidy. What do you reckon? I know they're pretty thirsty but how are they for general reliability? Are the auto box and engine as sturdy as some of the other hilux? I've heard that both engine and transmission can be a pain to fix. I'm not exactly a mechanic so something that won't fall apart too suddenly is what i'm after...
any advice would be very much appreciate
Cheers
Phil
