Instant messengers

I'm thinking of downloading an instant messenger,which of the following would anyone recommend?Yahoo,MSN or ICQ?

I would get msn messenger .I think most of the world has it.

its easy to use and good for transfering files /piccies between mates.
We all use it work for passing documents between pc's.

I use Yahoo and MSN Messenger - just cos I got a Hotmail account and a Yahoo account.

I like MSN messenger the best but then that's just personal preference.

IF you use iCQ you get tonnes of junk , and its quite easily hacked.

Have never used yahoo , so can't comment on that one.

MSN messenger seems to be the favourite ( even though i hate most things Microsoft ! )
but i would reccomend using a e-mail address other than a hotmail one for registering it. as Hotmail gets bombarded with spam and junk all the time.

You don't much junk if you turn the security settings up a bit, unfortunately they're set quite low by default
