Transmission Jack...

Hi Folks,

Long shot, but I hate dropping gearboxes at the best of times.... and adding a transfer box won't help... I must be getting old but after nearly dropping a gearbox on my head a couple of years ago I want an easier way!

Before I buy a transmission jack, does anyone near the reading/henley area have one I can borrow/rent?

I'd far rather top up someone Hilux fund than rent one from a firm, even if the cost is the same!

Three Weetabix inside you is all you need to lift auto 'boxes on and off.
(Remove the T/case first.)

I didn't want to stick the transfer box on in situ, because I don't trust myself not to anhailate the gearbox output seal! I have *just* managed with Supra boxes before.....

I was going to attach the gearbox with the engine already in place to prevent cutting and rewelding the slam panel.. (this may change, my garage roof is not THAT high....)

I guess I can manage without....

That said, if anyone not to far away can make my life easier with a trans jack, I'll not say no!
