Hi, could you tell me if these are the Varta batterys you got? they seem to be the only G7 & G8 listed on this site, if so can you let me know how much and where you got yours from (if it was someplace other than the one in the link)
i went to Quickfit and got mine tested and one is dead, come up at 35%, alternator is charging ok and i reccon the bif electric fan i replaced the vicious one with is drawing far too much juice, the volt meter gauge jumps from 13v to 10-11v when that fecker cuts in,
quick fit quoted me £166 fitted for the pair but i'm not sure of the quality of their's, he wnt on about these batterys used to be call Exide but now called this (whatever it was) never heard of it so i wasn't sure if their batterys are cheapos or what,, cheer's ian

Cant find owt for the surf, only the 4 runner, and just phoned the main dealer and they cant give me a quote on a pair as "it's an import" so i'd have to take it there so they can get some info off the pair they sold me last time!!
antway i'll get a price on the Varts's and if i cant get them it's be the dealer i think, see what MWS says first,

so Exids are now Platinum or is this guys giveing me the old flannel!

were they left and right handed or did you need to alter the cables? seems too good to be true for Bosch,

Hey, Ian. Yes, theyre the ones. Thy're much more poweful than the 068/069 combo, but still fit perfectly. I got them from a local motor factor over two years ago. I paid £184.00 for the pair. I suppose I could have got them cheaper online, but they've been very helpful over the years, and deserve support. I can personally reccomend those batteries. Here's a link to the full thread refering to them. http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/showthrea...ighlight=varta . All the best. Mick.

Thanks Mick, thats great, i have printed off the specs on both batterys and found a local motor parts place who carry Varta batterys so i will give them a try, must admit i have more faith in a named battery than the ones quickfit are offering if you know what i mean, thanks again mate, ian

Same craic from my local dealer in Aberdeen, I use Struans in Dundee who couldn't be more helpful.

Out of interest, are they genuine Toyota Surf issue batteries that you are replacing? If so, how long did they last you? I replaced mine 2 years ago and they were the originals, had lasted for 14years.

                      Cheers

                      Ben
