How to remove the ignition & steering lock assembly.

If you ever need to change the steering lock and ignition assembly on the surf it was fitted at manufacture with bolts that the heads sheared off when they were tightened! All that you will see under the steering column, holding the assembly on with a metal band is two cone shaped studs! However I have discovered that you can hammer a 10mm socket onto these and viola you can undo them!

Just done the job to mine after I jammed the very worn key in the ignition and it wouldnt turn or come out! I knew mine needed new locks, just had'nt planned on doing the job this side of Christmas! Will do some pics if Santa brings me a digital camera like I am asking her to!
