  • Picking up Juke boxes.

I have been asked to pick up two Juke boxes from two different locations in Goole East Yorkshire. 140 miles from me so 280 round trip. I initially said yes, but working it out with towing twin axle trailer it will cost me around £100 in fuel, the chap is offering me £170 so making £70, also with wear and tear on my Truck I cant see its worth it ? If I went into work for 8 hours OT I could make more than double that. Am I being mean ? What would you charge or would you do it at all ?

I once hired a van for a long trip over the weekend, hire cost + fuel for the van was still less than the fuel costs for running the surf!!! It was probably the worst trip I have ever made though, LDV with a 50mph limiter (I think it would self destruct if it went over 49mph) and wobbily steering was not fun!

got to be worth it for a couple of juke boxes!!

Don't be a soft touch Dave, tell him you want £250 in your pocket first before you fill your tank!

Nice one Ian, thanks Vince and Vince but I have told him I am not doing it, I really need to get that offside caliper replaced before doing any journeys like that, advised him to look for man with a van would be be the way to go. Thanks.
