  • OMG they were an arse to get off.

Just replaced my rear shocks today and i didnt realise now much of a pain they were to get off. The passengers side was fairly straight forward as you can get reasonable access, however the drivers side was another story. both nuts holding the actuator on the top of the shock were corroded and had to use the Irwin socket set to cut into the nut and eventually sheered the nut off completly. Once the top was done the bottom bolt holding it onto the axle rounded off, still the Irwin sockets made short work of that.

Now the truck is sporting some lovely monroe extened ones to go with the 2 inch lifted springs on the rear. Drives much better now and im well impressed. next is to do the front shocks and top ball joints when payday comes around.

Just thought id tell everyone how my day went today
